Oh BOY....ten days left- actually 9 because today is the 10th and I leave at 2am on the 20th. That day will actually be spent in Japan as I arrive at around 11am.
Let's see...got just about all my packing done. I stopped by Imoya-a little Japanese restaurant on island to eat something decent and use the wireless. After this I go home, complete the packing and organizing of whatever "stuff" we have left and try and squeeze in a run.
Tonight I have a going-away dinner with a friend of mine. Oh my gosh...am I having going away dinners already???
get to mom's house and rest
wake up and go to Onsen

If you want to know the truth...this is all just settling in...
I am getting that fluttery feeling in my stomach now....
My agenda for my first day in Japan is...
land
eat at my favorite shushi bar
get to mom's house and rest
wake up and go to Onsen
help mom cook dinner
eat
drink mom's 10 year old umeshu
passout
the next morning...life begins anew....
You see...I have it all planned out already. :)

Connie, thank you so much for your help and advice to me in the middle of all your stress! I'm glad your mother is waiting to catch and spoil you at the other end. When you get settled I'd like to know what umeshu is, especially 10 year old umeshu. Wait, I'll go look in my Japanese-English Dictionary. Hmm, isn't there but it has to have something to do with plums. . . Word verification is "gaphog"--that's not a word!!!!
Well, I always say you can do anything if you have a plan! Seems you've got that under control. Just wanted to tell you I'm continuing to pray that your move will be as seamless as possible and that you will feel at home quickly. Prayin about that tummy thing too! ;)
Many hugs.........
Diane
LOL - love your first day plan :) glad to see it includes squiring MIL's umeshu!
Enjoy these last few days and try not to think about coming to Japan because everything that happens will happen regardless of how little sleep you get now.
Holy shit - ten days!!

Watching the news and praying for you, family, and all of Japan this night.
Praying for you, and looking forward to hearing about your new life in Japan.
Hope where you are going is far from the earthquake and the tsunami that hit it just this afternoon.
Love
Lidj
Dear Connie, watching the news about the terrible Japan devastation. Trust your faily and friends in Japan are safe. There is a tsunami warning for your area I think - take care
Thinking and praying for you and your family.
